London Book Fair - V was at London Book Fair attending the Seminar Masterclass 'How to get published' Fantastic event with some great panelists.

Location:Conference Centre Rooms 1 & 2, Earls Court 1
Chair:Ms Danuta Kean

  • Ms Carole Blake, Agent, Blake Friedmann - She promised that as an agent they do look into the slush pile and it is here that they find gold. So do not give up, keep trying. V says, 'V will, V promise!'

Mr Mark Booth, Publisher, Hodder and Stoughton - He advices the writers to work on their pitch. The pitch should be such that it creates a chain reaction from the assistant to the agent it should be able to keep their interest up. V says, 'Your pitch has created chain reaction here Sir. See you soon!'

Ms Siobhan Curham, Author and Self Publishing Editor, Writers' Forum Magazine - Gave some wonderful advice along with dollops of hope to all those frustrated writers who are trying hard to get their feet inside the publishing world. Self publishing is not always a bad option. V says, ' V believe you girl!'

Ms Meg Rosoff, Author - She suggested that writers should write even when they know that their book is not doing well. They should continue their effort even though life demands their time away from the desk. On the glamorous life of a successful author she said, ' Only thing that's worse than a Book tour is no Book tour!' An published author's life is no more easier just because they are a success. V says, 'V loves you!'

Ms Lionel Shriver, Author - She seemed very sensitive human being. She said 'Don't loose the pleasure of the process of writing and don't just contribute to the slush pile if you are not enjoying it.' On winning an Orange prize she says, 'I am very big on literary prizes as long as I win them!' V says 'Go Girl!!'
